As we chart out the future course of action, we confront many challenges in terms of fostering legal knowledge among the community: a) availability of early-stage support; b) creating professional Legal Knowledge Development Programs (LDPs) tailored for their needs without ignoring their social setting, and; c) helping existing Jat lawyers scale up their legal operations and grow.

1. The model of ‘refereeing legal matter among fellow community lawyers’ preferred by a traditional legal fraternity is acting as an entry barrier to aspiring Jat lawyers as they rarely possess such a legal matter referring mechanism.
2. Establishing LDPs as professionally run programs, not exclusively for Jat’s (to avoid ghettoisation and expand their professional networks).
3. Creating/accessing professional help Jat lawyers for their legal consultation businesses that are on the growth trajectory.

A major challenge for ARJAA is how to create/prescribe benchmarks for its members regarding how and from where to access legal databases and legal books in large quantities and where to turn for advice and mentoring. The ARJAA and its members face a large knowledge gap about the complexities, opportunities and risks in harnessing the legal sector.
